On January 11th, we lost a dear member of our team, Jacob Ryan. Jacob played an invaluable role at WDD from the day he joined us as an intern in 2013, through joining our team as a full time developer last summer. Our hearts are broken and we share our deepest condolences with his family. We thought it appropriate to take a moment to look back at Jacob’s role within WDD and the lasting impact he will leave on all of our lives.
After wrapping up this freshman year at Rose Hulman University, Jacob began his internship with us in the summer of 2013. An extremely bright and talented student, Jacob interned for the next three summers (and throughout the school years) developing our internal project management system, Coordinatus.
When Jacob joined WDD as a full-time developer in 2016, he was immediately able to take on a full workload of projects and execute them to an expert degree, showing exceptional developer skills. Jacob was known for quickly identifying issues and being able to recognize what a client needed before they did. We believe that Jacob held himself to a higher standard than most, showing maturity and integrity beyond his years. Clients were always very impressed with his skill set and enjoyed working with him at any given opportunity.
Words can not describe how much Jacob will be missed and the heavy hearts we carry for his family and loved ones. We are happy to have the memories we do with Jacob – office trip to Kings Island, spending time with him at our Christmas parties and just enjoying his presence when he was in the office. While the past few days have been hard as we mourn the loss of a friend and co-worker, we celebrate in remembering what an exceptional young man he was.
