2015 was definitely a year of growth for WDD. We grew in so many ways: numbers, focus, clients, learning opportunities, giving and, most importantly, in our relationships. We would like to share a few of our accomplishments as we reflect upon 2015.
The WDD Family Grows
The WDD family grew this year as we added four new members to the
team. Josh Harms, Dustin Bridgewater and Dylan Zyrowski joined as software developers, while Ryan Busby hopped aboard our marketing team. All four have been doing great things already and we love the energy and perspectives they bring to the team.
Our internship program grew this year as well. We added Noah Miller (Rose-Hulman ’16) and Joshua Green (Rose-Hulman ’18) to our returning team of Jacob Ryan (Rose-Hulman ’16) and Steven Davis (Purdue ’17). All four were deep in software development projects all summer long. Jacob, Noah and Joshua have continued working part-time throughout the school year.
Getting Involved in Our Community
Beyond our interns, our passion for youth mentoring continued to inspire us to action as we engaged several computer science classes from Ben Davis and Hamilton Southeastern High Schools. We truly enjoy these experiences and hope to inspire some of them into technology careers – maybe even at WDD one day.
Our efforts to help with #GivingTuesday also grew this year. With the help of our new fundraising platform, AppToGive, we raised over $80,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana, Riley Children’s Foundation, and Youth Mentoring Initiative. STAY TUNED—more news will come on AppToGive as we prepare to make it available to even more non-profits in the coming year!
TechTacular Holiday Party
Wrapping up 2015 this year was extra exciting as we threw our 1st
Annual TechTacular Holiday Party! We were honored and humbled as we were surrounded by so many clients, friends and partners for a festive evening of food, drinks and fellowship. It was so nice to enjoy everyone outside of our normal work environment. Our office decorating competition was another first, with Dustin Bridgewater winning the now coveted Santa Trophy. We look forward to making this an ongoing tradition!
Office Outings
As always, our quarterly cultural events are key to the WDD family. This year’s choices included a full-sized drink refrigerator, a trip to King’s Island, renting out an entire movie theater for dinner and to watch a newly released movie with our families, as well as a generous Christmas party. These investments are what make us unique and are just a few of WDD’s perkanalities!
As the year comes to a close, we want to thank all of you who mean so much to us and have been a part of making WDD so special. We wish you a very Happy New Year and much success in 2016!
