JT Wellspring grew up in Mooresville, Indiana. In 5th grade he began to teach himself how to code using Scratch, and later was introduced to Python and Java through the PLTW classes offered by his High School. He attended Purdue University originally for Biomedical Engineering, but later decided to switch majors to Computer Science. He loves to break things and found that his favorite classes in college were not the ones about software development but rather the ones related to networking and cybersecurity.
Originally starting out as a developer out of college and later switching to QA Analyst, JT found his passion in testing and security, enjoying the challenge of finding vulnerabilities and ensuring software resilience. His background in both development and cybersecurity gives him a unique perspective in quality assurance, allowing him to think like both a builder and a breaker.
Outside of work, JT enjoys remaining active and spending time with his two dogs, Ruby and Gibbs. He also enjoys getting to travel and see new places around the world.
